Concrete barriers are ideal for a variety of uses, come in various sizes, and can be interconnected.

CONCRETE
BARRIERS

Concrete barriers and blocks are a tremendously effective method of securing your property against access by unauthorised trespassers.

Concrete barriers are also regularly used to control traffic flow, access to construction sites, and the protection of roadworks. Whatever the reason for their use, their purpose is to protect the workforce on a given location and the passing public.

Other common uses of concrete barriers and blocks include:

  • Earth retention and flood defence.
  • The creation of storage bays for flammable goods.
  • Counterbalance for heavy loads on cranes or trucks.

We also supply Concrete Jersey Barriers – heavy, interlocking concrete blocks which provide effective security while still being easily moved and re-positioned if your site layout changes.

Concrete blocks can be constructed to stand alone, interlock, allow drainage and more. Prime Secure can build and supply blocks in a wide variety of forms, so get in touch today on 0345 88 88 333 to tell us about your project and find out how concrete barriers or blocks can be best used to protect your site.

Rapid deployment

Prime Secure’s nationwide reach means we can usually supply our concrete barriers and blocks on a next-day-delivery service.

How much do concrete barriers weigh?

The weight of concrete barriers depends on the size of the block. Our lightest barrier weighs 500kg and our largest 4,700kg.

Size options

Our shortest concrete block is 40cm long, and our longest is 4 metres.

Can concrete barriers be moved?

Concrete barriers and blocks can be moved in the same way they are delivered. Heavy lifting machinery like telehandlers, forklift trucks, and cranes can all be used to remove or reconfigure your blocks. We have the appropriate equipment at our disposal to deliver and collect our barriers, so get in touch if you’d like us to help move them for you.

What tools are required to join barriers together?

We connect our barriers and blocks using high-tensile bolts and M24 threaded sockets. Concrete barriers can also be attached to roads and hard surfaces by utilising anchor plates, which are then bolted on to the bottom of the concrete barriers.

Can you have a fence on top?

Of course, we supply a selection of Temporary Vertical Concrete Barriers (TVCBs) with specially designed grooves carved to turn them into anti-climb barriers. These systems are typically used to create an impenetrable security barrier around a site.

Can concrete barriers be curved?

Longer barriers are constructed out of a series of concrete blocks, and we can arrange them in straight or curved lines.

What's our largest concrete barrier?

Our biggest concrete barrier weighs in at 4.7 tonnes and 4m wide. We can also bolt together a series of Temporary Vertical Concrete Barriers (TVCBs) to construct a concrete barrier as long as you like.
