V-FIRE: COMMON
FIRE ALARM

Save 82% compared
to the cost of waking
watch fire marshals.

Common fire alarms are recommended by the National Fire Chiefs Council as the best way to reduce the cost of expensive waking watch fire marshals in buildings with flammable cladding and fire safety issues.

V-FIRE: COMMON
FIRE ALARM

Why are common fire alarm systems needed?

In 2017, the Grenfell tower tragedy highlighted that many high-rise properties across the UK had been fitted with extremely unsafe, flammable cladding.

This led to new legislation being introduced requiring additional fire-safety measures to be installed on such buildings.

Any building that fails the newly introduced EWS1 form, is required to implement a Simultaneous Evacuation Policy until remediation measures have been taken.

To make this possible, either a waking watch service must be put in place OR a Common Fire Alarm must be installed on site.

How can we

Waking Watch vs Common Fire Alarm (V-Fire)

For buildings with condemned cladding, it is a legal requirement to have either a common alarm system or a waking watch service in place until the cladding is replaced.

The benefits of choosing a V-Fire system over waking watch include:

Save Money – A V-fire system will save residents an average of 82% in comparison with a costly waking watch service.

Instant Alerts – With a waking watch in place, fire marshals will have to manually alert all residents to a fire, a much slower and less efficient process than the instant alerts offered by a common fire alarm.
